This past weekend, 43 members of the Brierty-Duchon clan gathered together for a family reunion at Tapatio Springs in Boerne,TX. I hadn't seen some of these family members in 8 sometimes 20 years. The picture above is a picture of all of my 1st cousins on my dad's side (3 of them aren't pictured). My grandma had seven kids therefore they all had a few and then you get 23 first cousins! The ages range from 31 down to 3 (I am the oldest). Of course Kyla & Hollister are 2nd cousins.
It was nice to have a mini vacation and see everyone. We did alot of laying by the pool, tennis, Shane played golf, and we went to the river and swam and cooked out. Even though our home was only about 35 minutes away, it still felt like a vacation because of the scenery (stunning hill country views). Shane took Monday off as well and we took the kids to Sea Worlds water park to cool off. Man it's hot here!
On a side note, Hollister hasn't nursed in one week, so I guess he is officially weaned! The vacation/hotel environment helped because he wasn't in his normal routine. He still asks for it and actually got really mad at me and started hitting me yesterday, but that usually only happens once a day. We also have converted his crib to a toddler bed. He was beginning to hate it and crawl into Kyla's bed at night like he wanted to sleep with her. He also wouldn't fall asleep without one of us in his room. So we removed the front rail and put up a bed rail. So far so good. It's much earlier than I had hoped to convert, but he really thinks he is the same age as Kyla.
