So whats been going on with us? Let's see:
- Shane has been busy with work up until Hurricane Ike. He was working on a project with claims, but now that has been delayed since they are a little busy now
- Hollister has been sleeping in his big bed. The first 2 nights Kyla wanted to sleep with him, but then Hollister kicked her out. I said, "Hollister, do you want Kyla to sleep in her bed tonight?". His answer, "Pease" (for please). Our next project is to do his room. His room will be the first to be painted in our new house. And we will add some wainscoting and crown molding. Then we hope to take some cool black and white pics of vintage cars and frame them. The colors for his room are, steel blue, black, white, with black gingham accents.
- Kyla has been doing well with school. Mommy is not impressed with the curriculum, but I keep trying to tell myself she's only 4. It's been basically a repeat from last years 3 year class. Oh, how I miss First Foundations! She seems to talk about only playing with boys and one in particular named Jackson. I asked her if she thought he was cute. Her reply - "No, and everytime you ask me that, I'm going to say no!"
- Kyla has really impressed me with dance. Yesterday they were working on shuffle ball changes. They really have to control their body with the timing and she's doing great.
- Kyla has started arguing about what she wants to wear and how her hair will be done. She breaks down if it does not go her way. I told her she needed to stop or I would limit her to 4 outfit choices.
- Kyla has started doing chores to earn allowance. If she makes her bed and cleans her room everyday, she gets 2 quarters. Her goal is to buy a cash register.
- Hollister is pretty much talking all the time now. His newest phrases are:
- " I don't want that"
- " I'm sorry Kydee"
- " I want to play with Kydee"
- " I want to take a nap" (yes he really says this)
- Mamas came to visit last week. Unfortunately, we were sick half the time, so we didn't get to play too much. She came right after the hurricane hit her house, but she came out with just a few tree branches lost.
- What's going on with me? Not too much. I'm still trying to adjust to San Antonio. It has it's pros and cons. I'm trying to change out the flower beds for fall. This cooler weather in the mornings has been great! I'm still trying to make some friends. I've gone to some playgroups and church events. I'm having a hard time having a conversation with the women I meet. I'm not sure if it's a personality issue or if they just don't care to talk to me. Anyways, please keep my attitude and negativity issues in regards to my adjustment in your prayers.
