Busy weekend and dear friends

We had ourselves a busy weekend this past weekend. First, we had my dear friends from college visit all the way from Roswell, NM. Missy & Greg were my friends at Texas Tech. She was visiting San Antonio to do flowers for one of her friends wedding.

Missy was an interior design major like me, and her husband Greg was an architecture major. For basically 6 semesters, Missy and I had almost every interior design or architecture class together. And we also had some classes together with her husband. Interior design was a small tight knit major at the time. I remember all the all nighters we pulled at their house or up at the studio working on our projects, rendering till our hand hurt so bad, and then somehow making it to class the next morning to present it. I will never know how I survived on such a small amount of sleep and then somehow managed to work a 35 hour a week job. Anyway, we had a great time catching up, exchanging stories, news, and getting to know their daughter Addie. The kids loved playing with her. We all took a trip to the zoo to see all the animals. One of their favorites was the alligator.

We also had a garage sale on Saturday morning. It seems there is always something we can get rid of. It was funny. We did a "reverse garage sale" on a lady and bought something out of her truck that she had just paid $5 for. It was a cool double rocker with rush seats. She said she would sell it to us for $10. We said "deal!". Kyla sold some donuts and made a few dollars.

Church and home group pretty much consumes our Sundays now. But Kyla and I did a little shopping. You see, she had saved up enough money to buy her cash register she has been wanting for months. I tried to get her to buy the Fisher Price Learning one, but nothing would do, she wanted the Disney princess one that didn't quite do as much.

Something else funny she did last week. I was at the Dollar Tree with her picking out cards. She loves to pull all the cards out. She picked up one that had a birthday cake on it with fireworks going off above it. She said, "Look mom!, It's praise the Lord birthday cake!". I about died laughing.

Well, now I am recovering after a busy weekend and National Night Out party on Tuesday and fighitng the mold allergies along with Hollister.
